About our community
A Residential Community in Bel Air, MD

About Deer Manor and Harford County Maryland….

Construction for the Deer Manor Community began in the spring of 2005. Many home sites sold within minutes of Ryan Homes opening the sales office doors that winter. Located off Route 1, and nestled just far enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bel Air, Deer Manor drew residents from all over with it’s quiet charm and beautiful properties.

As part of the Village Green Homeowners Association, Deer Manor includes more than 74 single family homes backing up to woods, the condominiums in Village Green and the townhouses in the Deer Run Community. There are bike trails for safer bike rides and common areas where children can play.

Our children attend some of the finest schools in Harford County. Our youngest head off to Hickory Elementary School, Home of the Squirrels, for kindergarten – 5th grades. The YMCA offers both before and after school care for working parents.

Children in grades 6 - 8 attend Bel Air Middle School, Home of the Panthers. Bel Air Middle is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Bel Air High School, Home of the Bobcats, is located in the county seat of Harford County as it has been for over 185 years. Renovations are nearly complete on the expansion of this fine school. Bel Air High has a nationally recognized art and journalism program and also hosts award winning vocal and instrumental music and physical education programs.

While Deer Manor residents enjoy a quiet community, the Town of Bel Air has much to offer our residents. Main Street offers old world charm with many locally owned and operated shops, restaurants, candy stores, coffee shops, barbers, tea rooms, salons and spas, grocers, and more.

The Bel Air Farmers Market is a favorite from April-October featuring locally grown produce, meats, cheeses, ice cream, coffee…you never know what you’ll find! Other annual events in town include the Chocolate Festival and the 4th of July Parade.

The Bel Air branch of the Public Library is just down Hickory Ave on E. Pennsylvania. Here you will find something for the whole family with fantastic reading programs, books for all ages, videos and DVD’s to check out and meeting rooms for local organizations.

The Harford County Farm Fair is also located close by each summer just off the Bel Air Bypass. The Fair's mission is to promote Harford County's agricultural heritage and encourage youth involvement in agricultural activities, particularly through the 4-H.  The fair offers fun for the whole family with fireworks, pig races, vendor booths and activities. http://www.farmfair.org/index.html

Not much farther down the road you will find the newly renovated Harford Mall with major retailers like Macy’s, Sears, Bath & Body Works, etc. Bel Air is also home to many smaller shopping centers featuring banks, grocery stores, restaurants and retailers to suit everyone’s needs and wants.

A quick trip down Route 24 takes you to Abingdon and I-95. Along the way, you will find more retailers and national chain restaurants like Bob Evans, TGI Friday’s, and Panera Bread.

Bel Air is also home to great outdoor activities. The Ma & Pa trail winds it’s way through town following where the original train tracks of the Ma & Pa railroad once laid.

Annie’s Playground was built in memory of Annie, a kindergartner in Bel Air, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver while crossing the street in Baltimore after attending the circus with her family. This amazing playground, the largest on the East Coast, was worked on around the clock by volunteers and opened in 2005. http://www.anniesplayground.net/index.htm

Bel Air also has a fantastic recreation council offering sports and programs for children and adults of all ages.

Harford Community College offers educational programs, camps and more for people of all ages as well.

There are also many gyms and athletic complexes like the Arena Club and the Bel Air Athletic Club, offering classes, gym equipment, pools, camps, etc for the whole family.

No matter what you are looking for, Bel Air has it all. Travel just a few miles one way and you are in town with shopping and dining. Travel a few miles in the other directions and you’ll find farms and parks. Deer Manor is a fantastic community right in the middle of it all with families and couples from all walks of life. You are sure to find life long friends for you and your children here in Harford County.
